dance, 4 years dancing on her school's dance team, 6 years choreographing and coaching
dance teams, 4 years taking college dance classes, and 8 years teaching studio dance at the
recreational and competitive levels. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-
Milwaukee with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology (the study of human movement)
and Health and Fitness Management, along with a Minor / Certificate in Business.
At the Rec. Dance department she schedules all classes, orders all recital costumes, runs the

Although Amanda has passed down her position as choreographer of the St. Francis teams
she still remains involved in the "dance team world" as a board member of WACPC
(Wisconsin Association of Cheer and Pom Coaches). As one of the twenty board members
she has helped committees make important dance decisions and rules within the state of
Wisconsin that are enforced at the state=level competitions. She is also WACPC trained
dance judge and has judged several local and regional competitions. This past summer
Amanda has traveled to several cities across the state to teach camps and clinics to a wide
variety of dances and has been asked to be an instructor at the state's Fall Conference
alongside college coaches and professionally known dance and cheer experts.
In addition to poms she also has taught at a competitive dance company in Franklin for five
years. Throughout her time choreographing at the company she has been awarded with more
than a four dozen platinum honor winning routines and two awards for “Best Choreography”
at competitions featuring dance companies throughout the Midwest. She looks forward to
instilling a passion for dance in every one of the students she teaches and is exciting to see
how much all of the students will progress over this year of instruction.
This is Miss Stephanie’s fourth year teaching with the Rec. Dance Program, although she has
spent several years as a Summer Cool Pom Instructor. She teaches intermediate hip
hop/jazz, Intermediate ballet/tap, advanced 3B hip hop/jazz, all advanced 2 classes, and our
pom prep classes. Miss Stephanie has taken studio dance lessons for 9 years, including 5
years taught by Miss Amanda. She continues to study the art of dance today.
Miss Stephanie was also a member of the St. Francis Dance teams from 7th -12th grade.
Back when Stephanie began middle school, her love of dance convinced her that a middle
school pom team should be made. Immediately she grouped together a team of girls with
the same interest and her mother Beth Obst, current head coach of the St. Francis Middle
school and High School Dance team, established the middle school team in 2002. Throughout
her 6 years dancing with the St. Francis Dance teams both squads progressed in strength
and technique. Her senior year of high school was the year the team won its first regional
championship in pom and kick and placed 2nd at state in pom and 5th in kick.
In 2009, Stephanie tried out for a professional dance team for the Milwaukee Iron Arena
Football Team. She became the youngest dancer on the Inaugural Season on the Milwaukee
Platinum Dance Team. Dancing for thousands of fans at the Bradley Center and being on TV
became a reality for Stephanie. Besides dancing, Stephanie has had success with competing
in pageants. She was Miss Southern Milwaukee 2010. Another huge accomplishment is that
Stephanie is a Badgerette certified Dance judge as well as a WACPC (Wisconsin Association
of Cheer and Pom Coaches) trained dance judge. She also just received an internship at
WTMJ.She looks forward to this year to continue to expand her choreography and knowledge
of dance with others.

Amanda. She was also on the award-winning St Francis Middle School and High School teams
from 7th-12th grade. She was a sophomore on the team during the team’s first regional
championships, and was a junior when the high school team won its first state title. Outside
of poms she is also a WACPC certified judge who has had experience judging locals and
regional competitions. While teaching at the rec. she attends UW-Milwaukee studying
